Burrata House

I’ve seen this place in LA called Burrata House pop up everywhere: Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, etc. It’s a restaurant for all things burrata. They offer multiple different paninis, all of which have burrata on them. They have various bowls, all of which have burrata. And after 4pm, they offer pastas – all of which have burrata on top.

If you market it, they will come

After a couple of months of it popping up on my feeds, I finally decided to drive up and give it a try. I ordered the two most popular dishes:

The Crudo Bowl. Field greens, burrata by Di Stefano Cheese Co, prosciutto crudo, Italian EV olive oil, salt and pepper, organic tomatoes, arugula, and grain. It comes with a white balsamic dressing on the side.

The Crudo Sandwich. Rosetta bread, burrata by Di Stefano Cheese Co, prosciutto Crudo, Italian EV olive oil, organic tomatoes, arugula, salt and pepper.

Preferred method: to-go

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I recommend it for takeaway (to-go) vs. eating in. There is a small “bar.” If you can even call it that. The “bar” seats about five people. However, it is so shallow you can barely fit your food on it. Since the place is geared for takeout, there’s nothing wrong with that, I guess. But just be aware of that going in.

Top-notch ingredients

One thing’s for sure: there are PLENTY of options for what to order. Everything looks delicious. But how’s the taste? It depends.

Individually, the ingredients are delicious. Very fresh. The burrata is TO DIE FOR. So creamy. Di Stefano Cheese Co does a fantastic job with this. The lettuce is crisp. The grains are perfectly cooked. The tomatoes are sweet. The prosciutto is delectable.

As a whole, it’s meh

With that said, the bowl was bland. So bland that I would not order it again. All of the individual ingredients are great quality, but combined, the bowl needs a more flavorful dressing, like a traditional balsamic glaze – or something else added to give it some bite – like pickled onions. Without this, the dish falls short.

Saving grace: the sandwich

In contrast to the bowl, the sandwich was DELICIOUS! I could’ve eaten three of them. The bread is very flavorful, which adds that extra thing the bowl is missing; it ties the ingredients together. So simple. So perfect. THIS IS WHY YOU COME HERE.

I honestly don’t know how to rate this place. I want to give it 2-3 stars because of the bowl and the bar, but the sandwich is definitely five stars. Maybe meet at four stars? You’ll have to check it out for yourself. Let me know what you think!
