Hotel Emeline
Y’all, let me tell you: I had a PHENOMENAL first stay at Hotel Emeline I LOVE everything about this hotel, from the service, to the decor, to Clerks Coffee Company in the lobby. You really can’t go wrong with this perfectly-located spot with all the comforts of home...and then some!
Comforts of home with the luxury of a getaway
First and foremost, Hotel Emeline has one of the BEST locations in Charleston. It is super close to the market and all of the best restaurants in the city. You will be, at most, 3/4 of a mile from anywhere you’d want to be. This makes it ideal for anyone who wants a good, cozy home-base to go and explore the city.
The service at Hotel Emeline is seriously incredible. The staff is SO friendly and welcoming! They go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay, and they somehow manage to make it feel like home AND a luxurious getaway at the same time. I have to give a shout out to Luke at reception - he’s the greatest!
Surprising amenities
The amenities at Hotel Emeline are a bit different than what you might expect. There is a restaurant and a coffee shop in the lobby, and they have a Peloton in the fitness center! Now, I can’t say I used it, but I love that I had the option to log in to my account, as if I were home. They have hydration stations in the hall where you can fill up water bottles, they have complimentary fruit nearby, and even ice packs in case you are heading to the beach. For transportation, although there are no courtesy cars (like what The Dewberry offers), Hotel Emeline does have two Mini Coopers you can reserve in 4-hour increments to drive yourself around the city (or take to the beach). And BIKES! So many bikes. They have lots of bikes. The only downside was that they have no pool, but that’s not really a surprise. Not many hotels in Charleston have them.
Classic cozy, flawless modern comfort
The last thing I just have to mention about, but certainly not least, is the room and decor at Hotel Emeline! It’s seriously flawless, and right up my alley. Imagine midcentury meets art deco meets bohemian jungle. They use a beautiful mix of wood and leather and rattan and marble and velvet...the list goes on. Despite the variety, the mix of materials and textures blend seamlessly together, to offer a drool worthy vibes. Amazing attention to every little detail, and no expense was spared, down to using my favorite brand of linens (Matouk) in the suite we stayed in (The Collectors Suite, which I HIGHLY recommend). The water pressure in the rooms was excellent (we all know this is not a guarantee when traveling) and the products were wonderful - I have no idea how long my showers truly were, but they had to have been 30-40 minutes. They were just too relaxing. Most importantly of all though, the room was quiet and the bed was VERY comfortable (soft, while still maintaining some firmness).
See it to believe it
I took some of my own photos, but didn’t have the right camera lenses with me to capture the real magic of this place. Luckily for me, Hotel Emeline was kind enough to provide some, taken by @lindseyshorter, to supplement my own.
I hope the photos inspire you to take a look at this gorgeous place for yourself, and enjoy a stay if you get the chance!
